As the 'Pay It Forward Tree' shed its leaves in preparation for winter, the Learning Mentors launched a new whole-school initiative.
In an effort to ensure all members of the wonderful St Clare's community were demonstrating our school motto 'Praise God by Your Life', respect was made visible within the centre of our school. Students were challenged to make sure respect was at the forefront of all interactions within their day, displaying ways in which we can show respect as snow drops on the tree. It has been wonderful watching the St Clare's community engage fully in this initiative, reaping the rewards of some truely respectful interactions.

YEAR 12 2026 HUMAN CONNECTIONS PRESENTATION As last week marked the official first day of Year 12 classes for the Year 12 class of 2026 they spent their first morning together setting the tone for the year ahead. This was done by engaging in a presentation from Human Connections titled ' Getting your head right for the HSC and life after.' YEAR 12 TREE PLANTING On the day they are to begin their HSC exams, it seems fitting to reflect on this special activity Year 12 completed when they met as a cohort for the final time. As has become custom for each Year 12 cohort, during Graduation Week the class of 2025 planted their Olive tree. All students were given an individual question to reflect on and respond to before placing it in a jar that was planted alongside the tree. Both the tree and the individual reflections will serve as a lasting reminder of the Year 12 class of 2025 and the impact that they have had on the St Clare's community. STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: SOPHIE GIANNINI Bishop of Parramatta Award 2025 Sophie Giannini has demonstrated excellence throughout her time at St Clare’s Catholic High School. Her integrity and initiative are readily displayed by her role as a Student Leader, as is her compassion and humility through her participation in social justice and community service activities. Sophie’s passion for learning has resulted in the highest level of performance in all her subjects. She is an excellent role model to her peers, assisting them to persevere and succeed. Sophie has consistently strived to “praise God by our life” and we are honoured to present her as the recipient of this award.

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: BREANNA BORG The Rotary Youth Vocational Educational Awards celebrates excellence in vocational education and recognises the outstanding achievements of young people in school communities across Western Sydney. We congratulate Breanna Borg who has received this award for 2025 from St Clare's Catholic High School. Breanna was nominated by Ms Pauline Tivoli, please see her citation below: "Breanna is a dedicated student of VET Entertainment. She has assisted in all school events this year with professionalism and hard work. Breanna has successfully completed twice the required number of in-school and external work placement hours. 7-10 BOYS BASKETBALL GALA DAY! On the 29th of August our Junior (years 7 & 8) and Intermediate (years 9 & 10) students participated in the PDSSSC Basketball Gala Day. Both teams fought to the best of their ability. The Intermediate team finished with 2 wins and 2 losses, while the Junior team finished with 1 win and 3 losses. There were some close games, and the teams are looking forward to improving next year!
