CSPD students recognised in Refugee Week Creative Competition
Over 125 students from 10 Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) schools have been recognised for their empathy and powerful storytelling as part of the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) Australia Refugee Week Creative Competition.

🖤💛❤️ NAIDOC WEEK 2026 💙💚🤍 Sunday marked the beginning of NAIDOC Week, a time to celebrate the rich culture and history of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This years theme is "50 Years of Deadly." For 50 years, NAIDOC Week has celebrated the rich histories, diverse cultures and remarkable achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This year's theme honours the Elders, leaders, communities and young people who have strengthened the movement over the past five decades, while looking with hope and pride to the future. Last week, our students and staff came together to celebrate, learn and connect through a range of activities that recognised and honoured First Nations cultures. Highlights included friendly Staff vs Student Volleyball, Basketball and Oztag matches, creative rock painting and scratch art, and a special Breakfast Club where students enjoyed freshly made damper with a variety of native jams. Our celebrations concluded with a whole-school assembly, where we were privileged to watch students perform traditional Aboriginal dances and showcase the beautiful sounds of the didgeridoo, celebrating the richness and diversity of Aboriginal culture through music, storytelling and performance. FIA FIA NIGHT 2026 A vibrant celebration of Pasifika culture, showcasing the rich and diverse cultural heritage of our St. Clare's community. A heartfelt thank you to our parents, staff, and most importantly, our Pasifika and Indigenous students, who dedicated their time, energy, and commitment over the past two terms to create a captivating cultural showcase representing Tongan, Samoan, Fijian, and Māori traditions. A special acknowledgement to St. John XXIII for hosting the event for the second year and to Mr Francis Nansen for his vision and leadership in developing this program from the ground up, and for his unwavering dedication to uplifting and celebrating Pasifika culture within our school community.

SEASON 1 PDSSSC COACHES AWARDS! During Term 1 we had over 80 students participate in Season 1 of PDSSSC representative sport. This season featured Boys Basketball, Oztag, and Volleyball. Representing the school in sport is a privilege that comes with enormous responsibility. Last week we recognised a special group of students who went above and beyond in their contributions to their teams. This award acknowledges a player who consistently demonstrated dedication and commitment to their team, a strong work ethic, excellent sportsmanship, leadership, and a positive attitude. It means their coach saw consistency and positivity and that these students showed up, worked hard, supported their teammates and represented our school with integrity and pride. FIA FIA NIGHT!! A big shoutout to our St. Clare's Pasifika students for a successful Fia Fia Night event last Tuesday night. 62 of our Pasifika students have worked tirelessly over the last two terms to create a cultural performance that consisted of a Tongan, Samoan, Fijian and Maori dance / song. A big thank you to all of our student leaders for playing an important role in this years event! Also, a shoutout to our 18 Indigenous students who performed the Welcome dance for the event. Our Pasifika and Indigenous students represented our school with passion and integrity. Well done!

ALPHA YOUTH SERIES What an incredible journey through the Alpha Youth Series! Our students have thoroughly enjoyed getting together to share ideas and ask big questions about faith and life. We are grateful to the team who supported us through the Alpha program. This series may have ended, however their journey is only just beginning.
